Dutch Economy Posts Highest Growth in Seven Years
The Dutch economy grew 4.1 percent in the third quarter of 2007 compared to the same period in 2006. According to Statistics Netherlands (CBS), this increase represents the highest growth in more than seven years.
In comparison to the second quarter of 2007, the economy grew 1.8 percent in the third quarter, the highest quarter-on-quarter growth in over 10 years.
Higher production of natural gas boosted the economic growth, as well as increased production levels by commercial services and the health care sector. The volume of exports of goods and services was 7.5 percent higher in the third quarter of 2007 than in the third quarter of 2006.
